DHS  Program

Hypnosis practitioners are rapidly gaining acceptance as a viable method to help people accomplish their goals. Hypnosis professionals are more than people who merely induce hypnosis. Hypno-professionals are motivational life coaches, mentors, and a source of inspiration for those we serve. Hypno-professionals are not medical professionals. We are part of the ever growing population of integrative / complementary / alternative practitioners that thousands are turning to. In cooperation with other wellness professionals, as well as those in the medical profession, we serve an important role in providing peace of mind and choice to those who come to us for assistance. Our Theo-centric approach to hypnosis is designed to help the whole person… Mind, Body, and Spirit (holistic) gain harmony and peace of mind. Your enrollment is an important step toward joining this growing and proud profession.

Program Outline

Studies in Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy:  DHS 300

Course Objectives: This course is to provide an understanding of the theories and concepts in effect when using hypnosis. As well, various case studies are explored to provide the student with insights into the actual response of clients/patients/subjects, to hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

 Practical Application:  DHS 301

Course Objectives: Understanding the concepts involved in hypnosis, is only the beginning. It is essential that the student be able to take these concepts and translate them into practical application. This course is intended to provide students with a format for practical application of the theories and concepts taught in DHS 300.

 Inductions:  DHS 302

Course Objectives: For hypnosis or hypnotherapy to take place, one must first induce hypnosis. This course is intended to provide additional valuable information about the process of hypnotic induction.

 Working With Children:  DHS 303

Course Objectives: Children are probably the best subjects for hypnosis because of their wonderful imaginations and willingness to explore new ideas that adults may be skeptical about. Children, however, require a different approach than adults in therapy. This course is intended to provide valuable information on working with children in a professional practice.

Counseling Studies:  DHS 304

Course Objectives:  Although hypnosis and hypnotherapy are different than cognitive or psychotherapy, it is important for a hypnotist or hypnotherapist to understand basic concepts of counseling. Since the way in which a hypnotist or hypnotherapist will structure a session is developed at the time of the pre-talk and intake, a basic knowledge of counseling procedures is especially important at that stage. This course is designed to help students better approach the pre-talk and intake phases of professional hypnosis work.

 Metaphysical Studies:  DHS 305

Course Objectives: The subconscious mind is not limited by physical concepts. It is the intuitive, creative, imaginative part within each of us. This course is provided to help students better understand the great power of the subconscious mind. Through dreams and through meditation we have windows through which to access this very powerful aspect of our being.

 Spiritual Studies: DHS 306

Course Objectives: Hypnosis has played a part in religion since the dawn of man. Hypnosis is a powerful tool in accessing the higher self and exploring our spirituality. This course is designed to help students understand the connection between hypnosis and our spiritual essence.

 Technical Studies: DHS 307

Course Objectives: As a professional in the wellness community hypnotists/hypnotherapist frequently interact with those in the medical and psychological community. Although hypnotists/hypnotherapists do not diagnose, it is most helpful to understand terms and references used in the medical and psychological community. This course is provided to help students more effectively communicate professionals those other fields.

 Business Skills:  DHS 308

Course Objectives:  Having hypnosis/hypnotherapy skills is only one side of the equation for the professional hypnotist/hypnotherapist. It is also important to have a working knowledge of practice management. This course is designed to help the student understand basic principles of practice management, advertising, etc. so as to provide a higher chance of success in professional practice.
